Paid Family and Medical Leave   

Get Ready for Washington’s Paid Family and Medical Leave law. 

Kate Tylee Herz, Davis Wright Tremaine LLP,  will provide an update on rulemaking, voluntary plans, and what you should be doing now to prepare for the implementation of the law.

Right to Try

New law and new rules around experimental treatments for the terminally ill.

Jessica Rothe, MBA, CCEP and Kim Petram, RN, BSN, Healthcare Management Administrators will discuss what Right to Try (RTT) Act that was recently signed into law means for healthcare and healthcare plan members. The answer is equal parts important and complicated. Our speakers will update and unpack every detail of what is arguably one of the hottest topics in healthcare.


Speakers 

Kate Tylee Herz has significant experience conducting workplace investigations and representing clients in federal and state courts against allegations of discrimination, hostile work environment, sexual harassment, wage and commission disputes, wrongful termination, retaliation, and claims under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title VII, and Washington Law Against Discrimination (WLAD).

Jessica Rothe, MBA, CCEP has been in the HR and compliance Field for over 13 years.  She is HMA’s Compliance expert and has been part of the HMA team since 2008. 

Kim Petram is a Registered Nurse with a BSN with over 20 years in the Healthcare industry. Originally in the facility based world of oncology, transplant and case management, Kim transitioned to the payer world joining HMA in 2012. Kim is the Senior Manager of the Care Management department, leading the RN, appeal and payment integrity teams.
