Legal Update
A review of recent federal court decisions involving employee benefit plans and ERISA. The discussion will include cases involving claims of (i) excessive fees charged by retirement plan record keepers, (ii) breach of fiduciary duties regarding retirement plan investments, (iii) vested rights to retiree medical and life insurance benefits, and (iv) successor liability for withdrawal liability from multiemployer pension plans.
Presenter
Doug Love is a partner in the Seattle office of K&L Gates. He practices in the areas of employee benefits and ERISA, including tax-qualified and nonqualified retirement plans such as pension, profit sharing and 401(k) plans, executive compensation, and health and welfare plans. He received his JD and MBA from the University of Washington in 1988, and has been listed in "Best Lawyers in America" for Employee Benefits every year since 2007. In 2015 he was named by Best Lawyers in America as the "Lawyer of the Year" for employee benefits in Seattle.
